Supporting Finding Joy inFertility
A FUNDRAISER ON BEHALF OF BRIGHT BLESSINGS
For some couples, the journey to building a family together happens right after marriage. It is something they may not have to really think about, or stress over. This has not been the case for my husband and I. After years of struggling with Infertility and trying to conceive we were finally pregnant with a son who we unfortunately loss on Father’s Day 2015 at 17 weeks of pregnancy. We received so much love and support throughout this journey from family, friends, and even strangers. Anyone who knows me knows how much I love children and how excited my husband and I will be when we finally get to have a family of our own.
Most pregnant women are so excited for all the joy their new little bundle will bring. They look forward to the day when they can celebrate their little one prior to them making their grand entrance at their baby shower. After volunteering several times at Bright Blessings and realizing the impact they can make to the Charlotte Community through donations I thought how great it would be to host a Bright Blessings Baby Shower in memory of our son. Bless-a-Baby is one program where Baskets of Hope are put together to provide a healthy start for the tiniest victims of poverty. These baskets help turn worry and stress for new mothers who are homeless into joyful blessings. They promote bonding between mother and child by providing basic care necessities.
I may never have the opportunity to celebrate with a baby shower of my own, but I am grateful for this opportunity to give back. Starting at just $10, I am asking my friends and family to join me by donating to Bright Blessings and helping to bring joy, care, and hope to babies in need.

About Bright Blessings
90% of every dollar goes directly into Bright Blessings' programs. Thanks to the generosity and caring of our volunteers and donors just like you, we will help provide joy, care, and hope to more than 10,000 homeless and impoverished children this year.
Bright Blessings first began in 2005 as a monthly birthday program for children staying at the Salvation Army Center of Hope in Charlotte, North Carolina. The organization's founders, John and Amy Cervantes, wanted to help brighten the lives of needy children while also instilling a love and commitment for community service in their own young children. For nearly three years, the Cervantes family threw birthday celebrations every month for hundreds of homeless children at the Center, adding educational and enrichment activities to their program and also providing the kids with gifts, new books and basic care essentials.
In March of 2008, the family decided to incorporate their program as a not-for-profit charity with a twofold mission of engaging volunteers of all ages to help brighten the lives of needy children across the greater Charlotte metro area. Today, Bright Blessings remains a volunteer-led organization that will impact more than 10,000 homeless and impoverished children this year through its core programs, Bless-A-Birthday, Bless-A-Baby, Gift of Literacy and Gift of Care.
