Lake Norman Chapter
Bright Blessings has officially announced the addition of a satellite office based in Mooresville that will serve the Lake Norman area. This new Chapter of the organization will help to provide program services to North Mecklenburg, Southern Iredell, and Mooresville School Districts.
Bright Blessings of Lake Norman will be managed by Linda Morris and multiple volunteers. The goals of the new Chapter are to raise community support through awareness, to make connections with new volunteers, school counselors, and corporate sponsors, as well as to alleviate some of the drive time for Matthews based volunteers delivering packages to schools in these northern areas.
Bright Blessings has experienced rapid growth in their service numbers over the past couple of years, jumping from serving 8,921 children in 2017 to serving 14,353 in 2018. Having already served over 13,000 children in 2019 so far, the organization estimates it will serve well over 16,000 children in 2019. Having a new “home base” for package distribution to areas well north of the main office in Matthews will not only expedite the deliveries to those schools, but will also allow the organization to grow their volunteer base. With an administrative staff of only 9 people, the organization is truly sustained through the hands and feet of its volunteers and the generosity of its sponsors. Individuals, organizations, and businesses. Now, such groups and individuals wanting to get involved with Bright Blessings in these northern areas can contact Linda Morris directly and have a local office to volunteer with. The satellite office, located at Broad Street UMC in Mooresville, is equipped to host volunteer sessions for service groups and special occasion parties for those wanting a more hands-on experience.
