2014 Community Cornerstone Impact Breakfast

Bright Blessings' Impact Breakfast brings together service-minded individuals whose professional, civic, academic and faith networks help support local homeless children across the greater Charlotte area.  Attendees enjoyed an exceptional breakfast, networking, and heard about the issues of child homelessness in our community to learn how we can work together to make an impact.  View award honorees, see event photos and watch a video of our special guest speaker, Patrice Webb-Bush, Social Worker, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools, below. Ally Financial

Thanks to the generosity and enthusiasm of Ally Financial's Treasury Department in Charlotte, an employee workplace giving campaign began with a goal of raising $2,500 and concluded with a total giving amount of over $14,000! This incredible effort inspired giving that continues to embody the joy, care, comfort and hope received by thousands of local homeless children through the programs of Bright Blessings.  Ally's tremendous support also includes grant contributions for care & comfort sets and program services to aid transient homeless students across Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools.

The Dale Jr. Foundation

Thousands of homeless students across our community have a place to complete their homework and school projects in spite of frequent moves and a transient lifestyle, thanks to The Dale Jr. Foundation. Several years ago, The Dale Jr. Foundation teamed up with Bright Blessings to help sponsor student lap desks for our birthday and care packages delivered to local homeless students at all grade levels. Since that time over 2,500 lap desks sponsored by the foundation, each with a special card of encouragement for these students to stay positive, reach their potential and achieve academic success.

Jack Henry & Associates

"Never underestimate the power of a small group of committed people to change the world." Margaret Mead's quote is fitting to describe the Charlotte team members of Jack Henry & Associates. Over the past three years, this caring and passionate group has made a great impact on Bright Blessings and the kids we serve through multiple collection drives for backpacks, snack items & supplies, treat filled Christmas stockings and monetary contributions from a "Casual Days" summer program. As a result, hundreds of young lives have been brightened and our organization has been truly blessed to witness the impact of their efforts.

Moore & Van Allen

Seven years ago, a family's goal to take their service efforts from a home-based project to a community non-profit became a reality, thanks to the support and donated legal services from Moore & Van Allen. Since then, this Charlotte-based firm and its associates have reached well beyond legal services and Board involvement to provide annual support through major event sponsorships, collection drives and multiple workplace volunteer events. Thanks to Moore & Van Allen's years of support, Bright Blessings has been able to expand its programs, engage the community and grow from service a few hundred children to impacting over 10,000 lives since its inception.

Providence Road Church of Christ

Our friends at Providence Road Church of Christ are shining examples of the selfless dedication and heart it takes to make a difference for struggling children, many of whom, they'll never even meet. Every week volunteers from this church arrive to our facility with a big van and even bigger smiles, ready to spend a few hours delivering birthday packages to schools for homeless students and Blessing Baskets to agencies for homeless babies. Church members also volunteer at group service events, donate gifts & supplies and participate in our Adopt-a-Party program at shelters. With their many levels of involvement, Providence Road Church of Christ continues to help us make a positive impact for homeless children across our community.

Union Academy

It takes a village to make an impact, and the students and faculty at Union Academy truly embody this popular adage. Since 2011, this caring academic community has rallied support for Bright Blessings and the kids we serve, including their "Bucks for Blessings" collection efforts - raising over $1,000- andthrough many service events to help prepare supplies, gift sets and assist with many projects at the Giving Village. When so many young people are engaged and inspired to make a difference for others, not only does our community benefit, but our world and our future become that much brighter too.
